Looking for something that was compact, good quality, and affordable, used to be a tall order when browsing the market for a new set of bin’s. These days you no longer have to spend $300 to own a quality pair of binoculars. For general purpose viewing, these are fantastic. Nikon has retained all of the user-friendly features that have made these nocs such a favorite. That is why the Eagleview has become one of the most popular zoom binoculars on the planet. You may find yourself saying wow, albeit involuntarily!

DESIGN FEATURES

  • Measuring just 4.7″ x 4.3″ and weighing only 12.5 ounces, the Eagleview Zoom will snugly fit into the average jacket pocket.
  • The turn and slide eyecups are very useful features. They give you that extra “eye relief” that is needed for the best viewing experience, even if you wear glasses. They also allow easy positioning of your eyes, at the correct eyepoint.
  • If you are color-conscious, there is a choice of the original silver and gray, or a fetching black on black color scheme.
  • The 8-24×25 Eagleview Zoom model includes new ergonomic styling to allow a better, more comfortable grip on the dual-hinge polycarbonate body.
  • Carbon fiber material in the hand-grips makes them particularly durable.
  • In these times of environmental strife, it is good to see Nikon encorporate eco-friendly materials into their designs.
  • They ship with a black velcro-flap carrying case, which has a belt loop on the back, and a small carrying strap that you can attach to your bins.
  • The only possible drawback is that they are not waterproof and need to be kept dry at all times, so if you plan to take your nocs along on fishing trips, look at a different model.

OPTICS

  • An “exclusive” centrally located zoom control lever. This enables you to select any magnification from 8 to 24 with the push of a finger.
  • With a little practice, you’ll find it easy to focus and change the zoom level with one hand.
  • You’ll probably find that 8x is enough for your viewing. But if you really need to get in close, it’s nice to know the zoom is up to the task.
  • Provide a very crisp image, even at the lower magnification levels.
  • Impressively bright images, thanks to multilayer-coated lenses and 25-millimeter objective lens.
  • High index, BaK4 prisms that provide true color rendition and crisp, clear viewing.
  • A 240 foot field of view at 1, 000 yards when set on eight power, and possesses a 4.6 degree field of view at 8x. That’s pretty impressive.
  • 24x mabe has few practical applications, but such compact power sure is a lot of fun!
